Ranking

Building on the ranking system first introduced a few years ago, the new ranking system will be more transparent and updated more regularly. Ultimately, this will be this ranking system that will be used to determine who is eligible to represent Australia at the world titles the following year.

What is it?
Rankings will be calculated using the results from three types of events that will contribute towards a boats overall Australian ranking. The event types are National championships, State championships and club championships. For an event to be eligible, it must simply have 5 or more J24 racing sailing under the class rules.

For a boat to be eligible, it must be a current member of its state association and its details must be up to date on this website. To see if your boat is currently ‘active’ see the boat register.

How is my ranking calculated?
The ranking season starts at the end of the national championships. When you have finished an eligible event your australian ranking points will be calculated for that event. After the nationals your total point score will be added up and boat with the highest number of points wins.
